Dermal Fillers

What is it?

Dermal Fillers are a non-invasive treatment for smoother, more youthful skin. As we age, our skin loses its natural elasticity and the smooth complexion we took for granted as teenagers begins to fade. Unfortunately the way our skin ages is largely determined by our genetics, but the process is accelerated by smoking, poor diet and sun exposure.

By injecting tiny amounts of non-animal based hyaluronic acid into the skin or lips, Dermal Filler treatment gives you the opportunity to temporarily halt or even reverse the aging process by restoring volume and elasticity where you need it most. After one short treatment, the skins surface is ‘plumped up’, the appearance of lines and wrinkles are diminished and there is a marked improvement in suppleness. Safe and long lasting, Dermal Fillers provide a youthful lift to your appearance and an invaluable boost to your confidence.

Who’s it for?

Almost anyone who is unhappy about the current appearance of their skin can benefit from treatment with Dermal Fillers. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be used on nearly every part of the face to tackle a wide range of concerns. Your doctor will discuss the best option for you depending on the specific problem areas you wish to target.

If you would like to:

• Reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles almost anywhere on the face (‘crow’s feet’, nose to mouth furrows or ‘marionette lines’, wrinkles around the mouth, glabella lines between the eyebrows)
• Enhance your smile with fuller, more youthful lips or define your cupid’s bow

• Redefine or soften the contours of your face, such as the chin or cheeks or reduce the appearance of a prominent chin
• Benefit from a healthier, more youthful looking skin tone on your face, neck, hands or décolletage

What can I expect from treatment with Dermal Fillers?

Before treatment

At your pre-treatment consultation, your CosmeDoctor will help you to complete a medical history form and you will be asked to sign a consent form. Your CosmeDoctor will take the time to explain the procedure in full and you will have chance to ask any questions you may have concerning the treatment.

The procedure

During treatment a tiny amount of the Dermal Filler gel is injected into the skin or lips with a very fine needle to provide instant volume and smoothness where you would like it most. Treatment typically only takes between 15-30 minutes.

After treatment

For optimum results, a top-up treatment it is generally recommended approximately 6- 12 months after your first appointment. Your CosmeDoctor will help you plan the best time for your next treatment.

Dermal fillers provide almost instant results. After your first treatment, your skin will appear smoother and more evenly toned and the appearance of lines and wrinkles will be reduced. You will notice that your skin feels and looks firmer, appears healthier and has a more vital and youthful glow.

If you have had treatment to enhance your lips, you will see an immediate difference in the volume and definition of your lips.

Our dermal fillers produce subtly enhanced, natural looking results which do not affect your facial expression. The end result is both subtle and dramatic – you, but better.

Is there anyone who can’t use Dermal Fillers?

The treatment should not be used in or near areas of skin where there is currently, or has previously been skin disease or inflammation. Dermal Fillers are not advised for breast feeding women. People with an impaired immune system or anyone undergoing chemotherapy or other therapies that suppress the function of the immune system are at greater risk of skin infection and should not be treated with Dermal Fillers.

You will have an opportunity to discuss your medical history in full with your CosmeDoctor during your pre-treatment consultation.
